Liverpool are interested in signing a hugely exciting Premier League player if he becomes available next year, according to a new transfer update.

Will Liverpool sign players in January?

The Reds have an extremely strong squad at their disposal currently, with world-class options dotted all over the pitch, and quality players behind them as backup. Jurgen Klopp completely rebuilt his midfield during the summer transfer window, bringing in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, among others, but he didn't add to the defence or attack.

Liverpool currently have magnificent attacking options in Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo, but that's not to say that that area of the pitch won't need freshening up in the future, especially if the former leaves at the end of this seasonm, as has been mooted.

It looks as though the Reds are certainly keeping an eye out for potential signings in the final third, following an exciting new update.

Which Premier League star at Liverpool keen on signing?

According to Football Transfers, Wolves star Pedro Neto is being looked at as a potential acquisition for Liverpool next year should he leave Molineux, along with Juventus forward Federico Chiesa:

"Liverpool have added Pedro Neto to their wishlist if Mohamed Salah leaves next year, FootballTransfers has been told. The Reds remain aware of Saudi Pro League interest in Salah and are making arrangements to ensure that a viable replacement is brought in if he does leave. Neto, who is a client of Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute, has been on the club’s radar for some time.

"Sources have informed us that Liverpool are unhappy with Wolves’ current valuation for Neto, however, and there is a feeling within the club that rival sides will add a further £20m to any asking price when Salah leaves Anfield."

Neto is a special footballer who is having a superb start to the season, registering four assists in just seven Premier League games, which is a good return for a top side, let alone a struggling team. The 23-year-old's efforts certainly have gone unnoticed by Wolves manager Gary O'Neil, who recently described his standout attacking player as "absolutely incredible".

Neto is such an exciting footballer, running rings around Liverpool during the first half of the Reds' eventual 3-1 win at Molineux last month and assisting Hwang Hee-chan for the opening goal, and he would come in as someone who could mature into a world-class player over time.

There have been some serious injuries for the Portuguese in recent years, which would make signing him a possible risk, but if the medical staff are confident that he has overcome those issues, he could be a fantastic addition.

Neto isn't out of contract at Wolves until the summer of 2026, so he clearly wouldn't be available on the cheap, but if Liverpool could beat other top clubs to his signature, it could prove to be a masterstroke of a signing as the years pass.

Over the weekend, news on the Man Utd takeover latest has taken another big twist as it emerged that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani has withdrawn from the bidding process at Old Trafford, leaving Sir Jim Ratcliffe in pole position to complete a deal to buy 25% of the club from the Glazers. Speaking to Football Insider, pundit McAvennie has slammed the Man Utd news, stating:

"I do not know what is happening at Man United now. It is an embarrassment and disgrace. There is one drama after another and for a big club like Man United who I actually think are one of the biggest in the world, it is a total embarrassment. Manchester United have endured an inconsistent start to 2023/24 on the pitch. O Flamengo, por meio de sua diretoria, já manifestou o interesse de prorrogar os vínculos dos três jogadores. Em novembro, inclusive, o acerto com Diego Alves esteve apalavrado com o departamento de futebol, mas houve um entrave no departamento financeiro e, por ora, a negociação segue travada. Entre os atletas citados, o camisa 1 é o único que tem vínculo definitivo com o Rubro-Negro, já podendo assinar um pré-contrato com qualquer outro clube.

Já os atacantes estão emprestados por clubes europeus até dezembro: Pedro, pela Fiorentina, e Pedro Rocha, pelo Spartak Moscow. O primeiro é tido como prioridade, afinal, é o artilheiro do Flamengo em 2020. As conversas com o clube italiano já foram iniciados há semanas. Por ora, não há indício que a Fiorentina aceite uma oferta diferente da acordada no contrato: há uma opção de compra de Pedro por 14 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 89 milhões), os quais a diretoria pretende parcelar, conforme publicado pelo portal “Globoesporte”.

Entre Flamengo e Pedro, por sua vez, o acordo já está encaminhado, com o desejo do atacante sendo continuar no clube, onde se adaptou rapidamente.

Em relação a Pedro Rocha, a diretoria também negocia com os russos a sua permanência no Ninho do Urubu, mas ainda por empréstimo. O atacante, que conviveu com problemas musculares nesta temporada, não conseguiu ter uma sequência no Flamengo neste ano: foram 10 jogos até agora (três como titular).

أعلن نادي ريال مدريد عن أرقام قمصان لاعبي الفريق الأول لكرة القدم في الموسم الجديد 2024/2025 وأولهم الصفقة، كيليان مبابي.

وسينضم مبابي إلى صفوف ريال مدريد بداية من الموسم المقبل وحتى 5 سنوات مقبلة بعد انتهاء عقده مع باريس سان جيرمان الذي شهد تألقه في الفترة الماضية.

وبحسب البيان الرسمي المنشور عبر موقع ريال مدريد الإلكتروني أن مبابي سيرتدي القميص رقم 9 وهو نفس القميص الذي ارتداه، كريستيانو رونالدو، في بداية مشواره مع الملكي.

وبدأ رونالدو مشواره مع ريال مدريد بهذا الرقم قبل رحيل، راؤول، قائد الفريق وقتها إلى شالكة في الموسم التالي ووقتها ارتدى البرتغالي القميص رقم 7.

ومع ارتداء مودريتش قائد ريال مدريد في الموسم المقبل القميص رقم 10، سينتظر مبابي في المستقبل للحصول عليه ربما بعد اعتزال الكرواتي المتوقع في صيف 2025 أو الرحيل.

بينما يرتدي القميص رقم 7 الذي يرتديه مبابي مع باريس سان جيرمان، فينيسيوس جونيور، وبالتالي سيكون من الصعب أن يحصل اللاعب الفرنسي عليه.

Crystal Palace could be set to lose one of their most important players in January, with a new report claiming that he is looking to leave Selhurst Park.

Over the summer, Wilfried Zaha, Luka Milivojevic, Jack Butland and Vicente Guaita all departed the club on a permanent basis, alongside Luke Plange who put pen to paper on loan at League One side Carlisle United for the remainder of the season.

The Eagles could still be forced to cash in on even more of their first-team stars at the start of next year because nine of them will be out of contract at the end of the season, including the likes of Jeffrey Schlupp, Nathaniel Clyne and Will Hughes (Crystal Palace contracts).

Another one of Roy Hodgson’s favourites who might be heading for the exit door despite still having three years remaining on his deal is Marc Guehi, who has made a total of 92 appearances since moving to SE25 from Premier League rivals Chelsea back in 2021 (Transfermarkt – Guehi statistics).

The South London Press recently reported that Manchester United are still keeping close tabs on the 23-year-old centre-back as they weigh up an approach for their long-term target, and if the following update is to be believed, England’s international would relish the opportunity to complete the switch to Old Trafford.

According to Spanish reports (via CaughtOffside), sharing a transfer update on Guehi, Crystal Palace’s talisman would “welcome the chance” to sign for Man United at some stage in 2024.

The Selhurst Park star would be keen to work with Erik ten Hag, and he is likely to cost his admirers £60m, which is the valuation that has been set for him by Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman.

How good is Marc Guehi?

Standing at 6 foot tall, Guehi isn’t the biggest centre-back around, but that hasn’t stopped him from being a rock at the heart of the backline so far this season, where he’s averaging 4.9 clearances per game in the top-flight alongside a 91.3% pass success rate, which displays his calmness and composure on the ball (WhoScored – Guehi statistics).

The Abidjan native is also capable of making a positive impact at the opposite end of the pitch having posted 22 contributions (14 goals and eight assists) since the start of his career, highlighting the threat he can pose when it comes to set pieces.

Furthermore, Hodgson’s regular feature has the ability to operate out wide at both left-back and right-back as well as his usual role in the middle, so his versatility is another attribute that makes him a great option for the boss to have at his disposal in the capital.

Finally, Guehi has been described as a “beast” by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, so whilst there’s a strong possibility that Man United will come calling next year, Palace chiefs need to do everything they can to fend off interest and retain the services of their defender.
