They have received plenty of criticism for it, but Chelsea have signed some extraordinary young talents in recent seasons.

For example, despite still being just 18 years old, Estevao has been a revelation for Enzo Maresca’s side this season.

The young Brazilian has already scored five goals and provided one assist in just 843 minutes, and looks like he could be something truly special.

So, fans should be ecstatic that Chelsea have now signed another highly rated wonderkid who’s been compared not only to Estevao but also to Moises Caicedo.

Perhaps the pick of the bunch, and the one who feels most ready to have an impact akin to the Brazilians, is Geovany Quenda.

The Blues paid a whopping £44m for the Portuguese gem back in March, and while that’s a lot of money to spend on someone who is still just 18, he already looks value for money.

For example, in 22 first-team appearances this season, totalling 1273 minutes, the dynamic winger has scored five goals and provided eight assists.

In other words, the “relentless” teenage sensation, as dubbed by Mattinson, is averaging a goal involvement every 1.69 games, or every 97.92 minutes.

Another wonderkid who’ll be making their way back to Stamford Bridge in the summer alongside Quenda is Kendry Páez.

The Ecuadorian midfielder is currently on loan with RC Strasbourg in Ligue 1 and, despite being just 18 years old, is making quite an impression.

In all, he has made 17 first-team appearances for the French outfit and was named young player of the month for September.

Perhaps even more impressive than his club record, the teenage star has also already won 23 caps for Ecuador and will undoubtedly play a role for them at the upcoming World Cup.

The conveyor belt of young talent is going to stop next year though, as BlueCo have now got their hands on another incredible prospect who has been compared to Estevao and Caicedo.

Chelsea's next wonderkid

It was announced on Wednesday that the consortium that owns Chelsea and Strasbourg, BlueCo, had agreed to sign Burkina Faso youngster Mohamed Zongo.

The 16-year-old will join the French club once he is 18, and according to the report, so long as he performs well, he will likely then move to the Blues at a later date.

While this isn’t a story that is going to get the fans all that excited, it is another example of the West Londoners’ owners being proactive and seeking out the best young talent in the world, which is a category Zongo most definitely belongs in.

For example, respected scout Jacek Kulig has dubbed him “one of the most exciting U17 talents in Africa.”

On top of that, U23 scout Antonio Mango has described him as a “magic” talent who has “incredible vision” and “ability to open up the game from all angles and areas.”

Something else that should excite the Stamford Bridge faithful is that he appears to be reasonably versatile, playing as both an attacking midfielder and a right-winger.

Interestingly, journalist and Chelsea writer Lloyd Canfield made a bold statement that the youngster “plays like a unique mix of Estevao and Moises Caicedo.”

The comparison to the Brazilian feels rather straightforward given the 16-year-old’s position and skillset.

However, when it comes to the Ecuadorian, Canfield argues that it’s his ability to shoot from range and control possession in the middle of the park that makes the comparison reasonable.

Ultimately, it’s going to be a while before fans can get a proper look at him, but if what those in the know say is true, BlueCo and, potentially, Chelsea have a real star on their hands.

اتخذ نادي برشلونة الإسباني لكرة القدم قرارًا صادمًا يتعلق بنجم فريق أتلتيكو مدريد، جوليان ألفاريز، بعدما تواجد على رادار الفريق الكتالوني في الفترة الأخيرة من أجل تعزيز صفوف الفريق.

وارتبط جوليان ألفاريز بإمكانية مغادرة صفوف أتلتيكو مدريد والانتقال إلى صفوف برشلونة العام المقبل، في ظل اهتمام بطل الدوري الإسباني بضمه، رغم الصعوبة المالية المتعلقة بتلك الصفقة.

ولكن صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية ذكرت أن إدارة برشلونة قررت صرف النظر عن صفقة جوليان ألفاريز، حيث تراجع النادي عن قرار اهتمامه بضم الأرجنتيني في الساعات الأخيرة.

وأوضحت أن السبب وراء ذلك يعود إلى كون أداء ألفاريز يوم الثلاثاء الماضي، في مباراة برشلونة وأتلتيكو مدريد، لم يُقنع إدارة البارسا، حيث وصل إلى اللقاء باعتباره صفقة أحلام الرئيس خوان لابورتا، ولكن أدائه لم يكن على مستوى التوقعات.

وأفادت أنه حتى اليوم لا يُعد جوليان ألفاريز الهدف الرئيسي لـ برشلونة، إذ يعتبره النادي باهظًا، حيث يمتلك شرطًا جزائيًا بقيمة 500 مليون يورو، ويرتبط بعقد مع أتلتيكو مدريد حتى عام 2030، لذلك، لم يعد اسمه يُذكر في مكاتب النادي.

وأشارت إلى إنه بخلاف ذلك، يبحث النادي عن لاعبين يُظهرون رغبتهم في اللعب بقميص برشلونة إلى جانب لاعبين كبار مثل بيدري ولامين يامال.

وشددت من جديد على توقف قصة جوليان ألفاريز مع برشلونة، بشكل مؤقت على الأقل، حيث لم يعد من أولويات النادي في الوقت الحالي، ولن تُقدم الإدارة على أي خطوة للتعاقد معه حاليًا.

Thorpe died in August 2024 after being struck by a train, an inquest was told, with his family confirming that he took his own life following a battle with depression and anxiety.Thorpe’s removal as England batting coach came in the wake of a 4-0 Ashes defeat in Australia, on a tour severely affected by Covid restrictions. After the final Test in Hobart, police were called to the team hotel to investigate reports that Thorpe had lit a cigar indoors.Amanda Thorpe said her husband “was really teetering on the edge on that tour” and he was “absolutely gutted” by the incident. “He went round on the flight back and apologised personally to every person on that tour,” she said.The coroner’s report into Thorpe’s death concluded that there were “shortcomings” in the healthcare provided, but did not criticise the ECB’s decision to terminate his employment, noting it had “funded treatment, hospital stays and extended his health treatment insurance”.The ECB paid for ten online counselling sessions, but Amanda Thorpe described this as “woeful”.”As he went through these sessions, it was clear that he wasn’t coping. He was getting worse. We really did ask for help. I knew he needed more help than that. And, it wasn’t forthcoming.”An attempt by Thorpe to take his own life in 2022 was unsuccessful but left him severely unwell. “It was too late, basically, after the crisis [in 2022], he was very ill. He nearly lost his life. He had a stroke. We don’t know how that affected his brain after that.”The ECB might say, well, we didn’t know how ill he was. Although the doctors he was under did know, but then they sort of said, oh, but there’s confidentiality. There’s got to be some connection [between the ECB and their doctors].”Last summer, during the Oval Test between England and India, the second day of the match was dubbed a “Day for Thorpey” in order to celebrate his life, as well as raise funds and awareness for the mental health charity Mind.An ECB spokesperson described Thorpe as “a deeply admired and much-loved person”.”His loss has been felt deeply across the cricketing community and far beyond, and our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies remain with his wife Amanda, his children, and all those who loved him.”Graham’s passing is a heart-breaking reminder of the challenges many face with mental health. His death was examined by a coroner; the inquest was held earlier this year with full support from the ECB.”We have met with Amanda to discuss her concerns and have been in regular contact with her and the wider family.”

كان محمد صلاح قد أشعل أزمة قوية بعدما أدلى بتصريحات هجومية، مساء يوم السبت، حيث انتقد أسلوب تعادل إدارة ليفربول معه، وكذلك المدرب آرني سلوت، نتيجة تهميشه مؤخرًا في المباريات.

ولكن ما قاله محمد صلاح لم ينل إعجاب جيمي كاراجر، الذي استغل تواجده في برنامج “ليلة الإثنين لكرة القدم” عبر قناة “سكاي سبورتس” منذ قليل.

وقال كاراجر: “أرى أن ما فعله محمد صلاح بعد المباراة كان مخزيًا، وصفه البعض بأنه انفعال عاطفي، لكنني لا أعتقد ذلك، أعتقد أنه كلما توقف في المنطقة المختلطة للإعلام، وهو ما فعله أربع مرات خلال ثماني سنوات في ليفربول، فإن ذلك مُدبر بينه وبين وكيله لإحداث أقصى ضرر ممكن وتعزيز مكانته”.

وأضاف في تصريحاته التي نشرتها مجلة “فور فور تو” العالمية كاملة: “لقد فعل ذلك قبل 12 شهرًا، وقد انتقدته في هذا البرنامج، لقد لعب على أوتار قلوب جماهير ليفربول، كان الفريق في صدارة الدوري الإنجليزي آنذاك، وقد سجل هدف الفوز في ساوثهامبتون، كان ذلك هو الوقت المناسب للضغط على مالكي ليفربول (من أجل تجديد عقده)”.

وواصل: “لذلك رفعت جماهير ليفربول لبقية الموسم، لافتات كُتب عليها (اعطوا محمد صلاح ماله)، لقد اختار هذا الأسبوع للقيام بذلك الآن، انتظر نتيجة سيئة، فقد استقبلوا هدفًا في اللحظة الأخيرة (ضد ليدز يونايتد)، يشعر مشجعو ليفربول، والمدرب، والنادي بأكمله، أن الوضع في مأزق حاليًا، وقد اختار ذلك الوقت لمهاجمة المدرب وربما محاولة إقالته، هذا ما شعرت به حيال الأمر”.

وأردف: “أكثر ما لفت انتباهي فيما قاله محمد صلاح، عبارة (لقد تخلى النادي عني)، كان صلاح هو من تخلى عن النادي مرتين خلال الـ12 شهرًا الماضية في المواقف التي ذكرتها للتو، بعدما هاجم المُلاك في البداية، وهم المُلاك الذين يدفعون له مئات الآلاف من الجنيهات الإسترلينية منذ ست سنوات، اشتكى قبل عام لأنهم لم يمنحوه عقدًا جديدًا في سن الثانية والثلاثين، النادي مُحق تمامًا في فعل ذلك”.

وشدد: “مع المدرب الحالي، يجب على صلاح أن يبذل قصارى جهده من أجل مساعدة النادي على الخروج من أسوأ سلسلة نتائج مر بها منذ خمسينيات القرن الماضي، وهو لم يفعل ذلك، لكن عندما فكرت في الأمر خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع ووضعت نفسي مكان صلاح أو كيف كنت كلاعب، أدركت أنني لست محمد صلاح”.

واستأنف: “محمد صلاح لاعب مشهور عالميًا، فهل يجب معاملة هؤلاء اللاعبين بشكل مختلف؟ أعتقد أنه يجب ذلك، عندما تفكر في اللاعبين في هذه الفئة على مدار السنوات الثماني الماضية، ميسي ورونالدو ومبابي، لن أضع صلاح معهم، لكنه قريب جدًا منهم لما قدمه لـ ليفربول”.

وأوضح: “إنه شخصية أسطورية، وجميع هؤلاء اللاعبين يتمتعون بامتياز، تمامًا كما يتمتع محمد صلاح في ليفربول، فهو لا يضطر للدفاع، ولا يضطر للرجوع إلى الخلف (للمساندة على الصعيد الدفاعي)”.

وأكد: “هذا ما يفعله في ليفربول، ولكن عندما نتحدث عن خداع الآخرين، فقد خدع محمد صلاح ليفربول مرة أخرى لثماني سنوات، تخيلوا اللعب خلفه لثماني سنوات، لكننا نقبل ذلك لأنه نجم، وقد سجل 250 هدفًا، وقد منحني، كمشجع لليفربول، بعضًا من أروع ليالي حياتي وأنا أشاهده وأشاهد ما قدمه”.

ولم يكتفِ كاراجر بذلك، بل قال: “ولكن عندما تفكر في غرور هؤلاء اللاعبين، رونالدو، ميسي، مبابي، محمد صلاح، أعتقد أن لديهم شعورًا بأن نجاح أي فريق يعود إليهم، لا مشكلة لدي في ذلك لأنني أعتقد أن هذا يدفعهم لتسجيل المزيد من الأهداف وتحقيق المزيد من النجاح، وهذا يفيد ليفربول، ولكن عندما تكون في موقف كهذا، وعندما يتحدث محمد صلاح عن عدد الأهداف التي سجلها (أنا سجلت أهدافًا أكثر من أي لاعب آخر في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، كما فعلت الموسم الماضي) فهو دائمًا يتحدث عن نفسه”.

وعن جملة محمد صلاح في تصريحاته بأن كاراجر سيخرج الصبح إلى وسائل الإعلام لمهاجمته، قال: “هل سبق لي أن انتقدت محمد صلاح في الملعب حسنًا، قبل أسبوعين قلت إن ساقيه يبدو قد تضررتا، هذا أمر يحدث لكل لاعب، هذا ليس انتقادًا له كلاعب، لم أنتقده قط لعدم رجوعه إلى الخلف، لم أنتقده قط عندما لعب مباريات دون تسجيل أي هدف، لم أنتقده قط عندما لم يمرر الكرة لأحد ما بينما كان يجب عليه التمرير للآخرين أحيانًا، لأنه أسطورة حقيقية في النادي، وبالنظر إلى ما تحصل عليه منه، فعليك أن تتحمل بعض الأمور”.

وتابع: “لقد رأيت جون بارنز في النهاية، ورأيت إيان راش في النهاية، ورأيت ستيفن جيرارد في النهاية، هل تعتقد أنهم كانوا نفس اللاعبين في أوج تألقهم؟ بالطبع لم يكونوا كذلك، هل يختلف رأي الجماهير عنهم الآن عندما يرونهم؟ يقولون لا، أنتم أفضل خمسة أو ستة لاعبين لعبوا لـ ليفربول على الإطلاق، وسيُقال الشيء نفسه عن صلاح، لذلك فيما يتعلق بالأداء داخل الملعب، فإن الانتقاد الوحيد الذي لدي ضده هو مساعدة اللاعبين الآخرين، مساعدة فلوريان فيرتز، مساعدة إيزاك، لا تشغل نفسك بأرقامك الشخصية”.

واختتم: “كما قلت، فيما يتعلق بما فعله خارج الملعب، أعتقد أن النادي اتخذ القرار الصحيح بعدم سفره إلى مباراة إنتر ميلان، ولا أعرف ما إذا كان سيلعب مع ليفربول مرة أخرى، آمل أن يفعل ذلك لأنه أحد أعظم اللاعبين الذين لعبنا معهم على الإطلاق، ولكن إذا استمر الوضع على هذا المنوال وتصريحات كهذه، وإذا لم يلعب، كما قلت، فمن يهتم، من يدري؟”.

O Botafogo entrou em campo com muitas mudanças, a mais importante delas sendo a volta de Luiz Henrique já como titular. Mais que o desempenho – bastante satisfatório nas condições apresentadas – os retornos de LH, Jeffinho e Patrick de Paula, assim como as boas atuações de Matheus Nascimento e Kauê, são excelentes notícias para a sequência da temporada.

⚽COMO FOI A PARTIDA?

A primeira etapa foi intensa, com boas chegadas de ambos os lados, mas sem muita efetividade. O Botafogo foi melhor desde o início, controlando a posse e levando perigo com Luiz Henrique pelo lado direito. O Alvinegro, no entanto, pecou no último passe e em algumas tomadas de decisão, além de finalizações sem muito capricho.

Depois do intervalo, o Glorioso seguiu em cima e conseguiu um pênalti logo aos dois minutos da segunda etapa. علق محسن صالح، عضو اللجنة الفنية في الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، على توديع منتخب مصر بطولة كأس العرب من دور المجموعات، بعد احتلال المركز الثالث في ترتيب مجموعته.

وخسر منتخب مصر أمام الأردن، بثلاثة أهداف دون رد، في مباراة الجولة الثالثة والأخيرة التي أقيمت مساء الثلاثاء، ليودع بطولة كأس العرب، بهزيمة وتعادلين.

وقال صالح خلال تصريحات عبر قناة “إم بي سي مصر” لبرنامج “اللعيب”: “سأتحدث كرياضي مصري وكمشجع مصري، خسارتنا اليوم مؤلمة وتمس المشاعر وتاريخ كرة القدم المصرية، بغض النظر أن هذا المنتخب الأول أم الثاني”.

وأضاف: “في هذا المعترك لا يصح أن نخسر، ممكن نخسر كرة ولكن خسرنا كرة ونتيجة، لم نقدم العرض المنتظر، أعتذر بصفتي رياضي مصري ومدرب مصري وبصفتي عضو في اللجنة الفنية باتحاد الكرة”.

وأكمل: “أحب أن أوضح قبل أي أن يشمل الاتهام للجميع، اللجنة الفنية في اتحاد الكرة ليس من مهامها التدخل في المنتخبات الصف الأول أو التعامل مع المنتخب الأول وليس من مهامها الإشراف على المنتخب الثاني لحلمي طولان، لأن اللجنة تكونت وتوجد أجهزة فنية متواجدة”.

وواصل: “لم نقم بتغيير أي من الأجهزة، بسبب أن المنتخبات كلها مقبلة على أدوار نهائية ولديها أجهزة فنية تعمل معها وكان من الصعب إجراء تغيير، ورأينا أن نؤجل المعايير لتطبيقها في وقت لاحق”.

واستمر: “إذا كانت استقالتي أو اللجنة تريح بعض الناس فنحن مستعدين، اللجنة غير مسؤولة عن المنتخب الأول والثاني، مسؤوليتها عن قطاعات الناشيئن والأكاديميات والكرة النسائية والشاطئية”.

واستطرد: “لم نختار أسامة نبيه كمدير فني أو حلمي طولان، اللجنة الفنية متواجدة للتخطيط للمستقبل، وبالفعل وضعنا خططًا مستقبلية ومنتظرين أن نبحث في الاختيارات”.

واستكمل: “اللجنة الفنية عندما تولت المسؤولية وجدت أن هناك خلاف شديد جدًا قائم بين حسام حسن وحلمي طولان، عملية اختيار الأخير تمت لأسباب معينة، المفروض من سيشارك في كأس العرب المنتخب الأول وهذا الرأي السليم”.

وتابع: “حسام حسن رأى أن مشاركة الفريق الأول واستمراره في كأس العرب ممكن يصل للنهائيات، وبالتالي يدخل على كأس أمم إفريقيا وتكون الأيام قليلة للإعداد للبطولة، فاعتذر عن المشاركة”.

وأردف: “تم اتخاذ قرار بتشكيل منتخب ثاني ومشاركته في كأس العرب، وجدنا صعوبة في التعاقد مع مدير فني يأتي لمدة 3 أشهر لو كنت فعلنا ذلك، الإعلام كان “هيدبحك”، ويقول إهمال للمال العام”.

واختتم: “خروج منتخب مصر بهذا الشكل من كأس العرب، يتحمل مسؤوليته، حلمي طولان وحسام حسن من الدرجة الأولى، لأن لا بد أن يُنظر للمصلحة العامة ولم يكن هناك تنسيق، رابطة الأندية ومجلس إدارة اتحاد الكرة أيضًا يتحملون المسؤولية”.

The PCB has not awarded its most prestigious category A contracts to any Pakistan player for the 2025-26 season. A report from Spain explains that Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a move to sign West Ham United and England forward Jarrod Bowen to add to their options at the top end of the pitch.

Fabio Paratici has identified the Hammers star as a player who can add fluidity to their squad, as he can play out wide as a winger or through the middle as a centre-forward.

It adds that Spurs are willing to make a move to sign the 28-year-old attacker in a deal that could be worth £53m, but it remains to be seen whether or not that would be enough for West Ham to sanction his departure.

Why Jarrod Bowen would be a Mohammed Kudus repeat

If the Lilywhites are able to convince the Hammers to sell Bowen to them in January, the English star would come in as a Kudus repeat, for several reasons.

The obvious similarity would be that the attacker would be another left-footed forward joining Spurs from West Ham for a fee of more than £50m.

However, the main reason why Bowen would be a Kudus repeat for Tottenham is because he is another Premier League-proven star who could come in to hit the ground running for Frank.

The former Hull City star, who was dubbed a “game changer” by reporter Roshane Thomas, scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for the Hammers in the 2024/25 campaign, per Sofascore, and has started the current season in impressive form.

As you can see in the table above, the £53m-rated attacker has outperformed his xG since the start of last season, showing that he is clinical and reliable in front of goal, unlike Dominic Solanke, who scored nine goals from 10.97 xG for Spurs last term.

To date, Bowen has scored 59 goals and assisted a further 44 in 209 appearances in the Premier League for West Ham, per Transfermarkt, which shows that he has proven himself over a significant period of time.

These statistics show that he has the quality to deliver consistently at the top end of the pitch in the English top-flight, as he has provided a regular stream of goals and assists for the Hammers throughout his time at the London Stadium.

This suggests that he would be able to hit the ground running in North London as a signing who could slot straight into the team and make an impact in the final third, as he knows the division and has proven his quality.
