أشاد مدرب فريق مانشستر يونايتد أولي جونار سولشاير بالأداء الذي قدمه اللاعب خوان ماتا في مباراة الأمس أمام برايتون، في كأس رابطة الأندية الإنجليزية.

وفاز مانشستر يونايتد بثلاثة أهداف دون رد، وتأهلوا إلى دور ربع نهائي البطولة.

وشارك خوان ماتا في تلك المباراة، حيث قدم أداءً رائعًا وصنع الهدف الأول وسجل الثاني.

وقال سولشاير، في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “بي بي سي” العالمية: “أداء رائع من خوان ماتا، لقد كان هو الشخص الذي يحصل على الكرة ويهدينا إياها، كان كالمؤلف”.

وأضاف: “لقد صنع الهدف الأول بشكل أو بآخر، أنا لا أشعر بالاندهاش عندما يلعب بتلك الطريقة، لقد كان بالقرب من منطقة الجزاء ويعرف كيف يتحرك بالكرة، يقوم بعمله وهو في الخلف ليحمي الكرة كما حدث أمام دان بيرن عند ركنية في الشوط الثاني”.

وواصل: “كنا بحاجة إلى أول 20-25 دقيقة للحصول على ثقتنا والحصول على الكرة، لقد عملنا على الكرات الثابتة، المحافظة على الشباك نظيفة أمر هام خاصة بالنسبة للمدافعين”.

واستكمل: “بوجبا؟ أردنا إشراكه لمدة 25 – 30 دقيقة حتى يكتسب المزيد من اللياقة، لقد وجد هو وراشفورد بعد اللمسات الجيدة”.

وعندما سُئل عن إمكانية إبرام صفقات جديدة في موسم الانتقالات الصيفي الحالي، وتحديدًا لاعب بوروسيا دورتموند جادون سانشو، أجاب سولشاير: “لا يمكنني إخبارك بأي شيء، نحن نعمل مع ما لدينا، لدينا فريق كبير، قمنا بتغيير 10 لاعبين اعتبارًا من يوم السبت، إذا كان هناك أي تحديث، فسنخبرك بذلك”.

واختتم: “أنا لا أعلق على لاعبي الفرق الأخرى، لا أستطيع أن أشغل نفسي بالأندية الأخرى، أعرف أن النادي يعمل بشكل جيد ويعمل بجد ليكون لديه فريق قوي قدر الإمكان، في بعض الأحيان تكون التكهنات موجودة ولا يمكننا التحكم في ذلك”.

نجح فريق توتنهام هوتسبير الإنجليزي في التأهل لمجموعات الدوري الأوروبي لموسم 2020/2021، بعد الانتصار على مكابي حيفا الإسرائيلي بنتيجة 7-2، في المباراة التي جمعت بينهما، مساء اليوم الخميس.

انتهى الشوط الأول من المباراة بتقدم توتنهام بأربعة أهداف مقابل هدف، الهدف الأول، أحرزه هاري كين في الدقيقة الثانية، وفي الدقيقة 17 عادل تيارون شيري النتيجة لـ حيفا.

وفي الدقيقة 20، تمكن الدولي البرازيلي لوكاس مورا من تسجيل الهدف الثاني، وفي الدقيقة 36 أحرز الأرجنتيني جيوفاني لو سيلسو الهدف الثالث في الدقيقة 36، وبعدها بدقيتين، عاد النجم الأرجنتيني لإحراز الهدف الثاني له والرابع لفريقه.

وفي الشوط الثاني، قلص من جديد حيفا النتيجة بالهدف الثاني في الدقيقة 52 من علامة الجزاء، عاد هاري كين من جديد، لزيارة شباك حيفا بالهدف الخامس من علامة الجزاء في الدقيقة 56.

وفي الدقيقة 74، سجّل الدولي الإنجليزي هاري كين الهدف الثالث له في المباراة “هاتريك” والسادس لفريقه، وفي الدقيقة 91، اختتم ديلي مهرجان الأهداف بالهدف السابع من ركلة جزاء.

Adam Idah is pulling up trees at Norwich City.

Aged just 18, the striker has been in prolific form already this season, scoring a total of 10 goals in 15 outings in the Premier League 2.

His most recent strike came from the penalty spot, in a 2-1 win over Manchester United, a club to which he was briefly linked during Jose Mourinho’s tenure at Old Trafford.

Idah, signed from Irish club Corinthians, has already made his mark at Carrow Road.

In May, he was awarded the Academy Player of the Year, as well as the Under-18 Player of the Year.

This came about after the teenager signed a boot deal with Adidas, the sportswear giant who are already high on his potential.

Speaking to Pundit Arena, he confirmed in April of last year: “Such a big brand like that signing me, it’s great. For them to be looking at me, it’s a great thing.”

That is not to mention his international form.

Idah has been superb at youth level for the Republic of Ireland, winning 20 caps for the Under-17 team and scoring 13 goals.

He was the top scorer in qualification for the European Under-17 Championships last summer, netting eight times, and scored once at the tournament, against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Such has been his form, he has also played for the Under-18s and the Under-19s.

He has scored twice in four outings for the former and twice in three games for the latter.

It seems that the higher he climbs, the bigger the stage, the more Idah thrives. Norwich, indeed, are enjoying a fantastic season and are currently top of the Championship, with plenty of talent in the starting XI.

However, if Idah’s form continues, it will not be long before he too is playing under Daniel Farke, perhaps in the Premier League.

One thing seems certain; he is destined for bigger things, and may well be strutting his stuff at a top club sooner rather than later.

أكد الفرنسي أوليفيه جيرو، مُهاجم فريق تشيلسي، أنه ليس لديه أي خلافات مع مواطنه ومُهاجم ريال مدريد، كريم بنزيما، مُشيرًا إلى أنّ الخلافات التي ظهرت بينهما مؤخرًا افتعلت من وسائل الإعلام.

بنزيما انتقد من قبل وجود جيرو في المنتخب الفرنسي واستبعاده، ورفض المقارنة بينه وبين مهاجم آرسنال السابق، قائلًا: “لا يُمكن مُقارنة سيارة الفورمولا 1 بـ الكارتنيج!” (طالع تصريحاته).

لكن جيرو أصر أنه ليس لديه أي مشاكل مع نجم ليون السابق، كما اعتبر استبعاده من فرنسا عارًا.

كريم بنزيما يغيب عن الاستدعاء للمنتخب الفرنسي منذ أكتوبر 2015 بعد واقعة ابتزازه لزميله في الديوك ماثيو فالبولينا بفيديو إباحي للأخير.

وقال جيرو في تصريحات نقلتها شبكة “جول” العالمية في نسختها الإنجليزية: “بكل تأكيد غياب بنزيما عار، لأن كريم لا يزال لاعبًا مُثيرًا للإعجاب”.

وأضاف: “لم أختلف معه أبدًا، لطالما كان لديّ تفاهم جيد معه، والكثير من الاحترام المُتبادل.. على الأقل مني تجاهه”.

وواصل: “كل ما حدث عار، وجزء من الفوضى، لكن علينا الآن المُضي قدمًا، الإنجليز يحسدوننا كثيرًا على هذا الجيل الشاب لـ فرنسا”.

وتابع: “لقد تعرضت لانتقادات غير عادلة بسبب كريم بنزيما، ذلك كان يؤلمني كثيرًا، ولكنني أثبت أنني أستحق مكانًا وهذا التنافس مع كريم خلقه البعض”.

وأتم تصريحاته قائلًا: “ليس لي علاقة أبدًا بالمُقارنات بيننا، الأمر فقط لكوننا نلعب في نفس المركز، والجميع يتحدثون كثيرًا، لكنني تعاملت بشكل جيد مع هذه الصعوبات”.

Its been far from the most perfect season for Everton but Marco Silva is a talented manager who has what it takes to improve things at Goodison Park. Surely, after all the effort it took to bring him to Merseyside, you’ve got to give him a chance? 

As suggested by the recent big wins they have enjoyed (before THAT Newcastle game), the Toffees are still in the hunt for European football, albeit it’s now a slim possibility.

The team have been far too inconsistent to convince fans they will finish in 7th place but with an incredible run from now until the end of the season, you never know…

Defensively, the Toffees have been found out on one too many occasions and that, along with lack of goals at times, have been their main issues.

While Kurt Zouma is one player who has been very good for Everton, he is only at the club on a loan deal, which suggests the club might have to replace him at the end of the season.

Obviously, that’s unless they can agree a permanent deal for him (which Silva told the Echo they want), Everton should look at loaning another Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu instead. The Welshman, (who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt) is dubbed as one of the best youngsters coming through the ranks right now and Everton would surely be privileged to be a part of his development.

A permanent move away from Chelsea is something that wouldn’t be agreed on right now but Ethan Ampadu could find a Premier League loan spell to be very beneficial.

The 18-year-old has made five appearances for the first team this season, with three being starts. Despite his immense potential, it seems that the game-time he needs to get better won’t be allowed at Chelsea, hence the need for a loan move away.

Watford progressed to the FA Cup semi-finals last weekend at the expense of Crystal Palace, who left Vicarage Road with their wings clipped. The Eagles were far from poor and did their best without the crucial Wilfried Zaha, although individuals error once again cost them, as they did against Brighton a week earlier.

Most of Roy Hodgson’s men could return to South London feeling that they’d done their part, but Cheikhou Kouyate’s numbers make truly horrific reading.

Having signed from West Ham for just £9.6m in the summer – the only addition made by the Eagles that came at a cost – the big number 8 was seen as quite the bargain buy but, like the free additions who came through the door with him, he has struggled for game-time at Selhurst Park.

The clash with the Hornets presented the midfielder with a chance to prove that he should start more games, with Zaha and Patrick van Aanholt’s absences forcing Hodgson into some big changes, but he wasted it.

The 55-cap international, playing alongside Luka Milivojevic at the base of midfield, was surely expected to bring some added steel in the middle of the park and prevent the driving runs of Abdoulaye Doucoure, although he completed 0 tackles and 0 interceptions in 90 minutes – poor.

If he cannot aid his team in defence for one game, you’d at least expect that maybe he was a little more attack-focused against Watford, although 0 shots and 0 key passes prove otherwise. It would seem that his only contributions, aside from some solid, all-round passing, were the 2 fouls.

Palace will need the powerful 29-year-old to be at his best when they host Huddersfield at the end of the month – if he even starts, that is – as the Terriers will surely look to stop the Eagles playing their football and instead turn the tie into a war of attrition.

According to a report in The Lancashire Telegraph, Blackburn Rovers are continuing to monitor Charlton Athletic centre-back Patrick Bauer ahead of the summer transfer window, and if they get him they will be answering manager Tony Mowbray’s prayers.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the Championship outfit were keen on the 26-year-old last summer as per The Lancashire Telegraph, but the Addicks didn’t want to lose one of their star defenders as they attempted to return to England’s second tier.

However, the German is now into the final few months of his contract at The Valley, and The Lancashire Telegraph report that he hasn’t changed his previous stance of not wanting to commit his future to the south London outfit.

That means he could leave Charlton for nothing this summer, and his future may depend on whether Lee Bowyer’s men go up or not – they look set to finish in the play-offs.

Answering Mowbray’s prayers

The Lancashire Telegraph says that experienced manager has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his backline this summer, with their poor defensive showings on the road ultimately costing them a shot at a top-six finish this term.

Of the 60 goals they have conceded, 42 of those have come on the road and they have seriously lacked height in the backline ever since Darragh Lenihan picked up an injury last month.

Bauer would certainly bring that given he stands at over 6 ft 3, and he has shown consistently with his performances for Charlton that he is ready to star at Championship level.

If they could get a quality centre-back for nothing this summer, Mowbray would be thanking his lucky stars.

وكان اتحاد الكرة قد أعلن عن لائحة القيد الصيفي لهذا الموسم وفتح الباب منذ العاشر من الشهر الجاري، والمنتظر أن يستمر حتى الرابع من نوفمبر باستثناء الأندية المشاركة في بطولتي إفريقيا.

It has been reported by the Daily Express that Arsenal are keen on signing Everton centre-back Michael Keane and are keeping a close eye on him ahead of the summer window.

What’s the word, then?

The Gunners sent some members of their scouting team to London Stadium on Saturday evening to watch the Toffees beat West Ham United 2-0 in the Premier League, per The Sun, with the £50 million-rated Keane impressing.

However, they may face some very close competition from bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur to land the signature of the 26-year-old according to the Daily Express.

Starting his career at Manchester United, the tall and physical centre-half left Old Trafford for Burnley in January 2015, moving onto Goodison Park in the summer of 2017 for £25.65 million having broken into Gareth Southgate’s England squad just a few months earlier.

Hold firm Everton, we don’t want to see another John Stones

The last thing Everton need at this stage is another transfer fiasco after failing to impress in windows in recent years – and this is another one waiting to happen.

Everton’s decision to allow John Stones go to Manchester City before the start of the 2016/2017 season was a disastrous move, one that has seen concede 100 goals in the 70 games league games following his departure.

Whilst Stones has been impressing at the Etihad Stadium, the Toffees have failed to replace him properly and have struggled for defensive solidity.

It was a decision which was out of their hands to a degree but one that has set them back hugely in their bid to break into the top six.

They simply can’t let lightning strike twice by cashing in on Keane in what would be yet another pricey outgoing transfer of a key central defender.

At present, Marco Silva’s men are still firmly in the hunt to clinch seventh place and achieving that would show huge progress at Goodison, although they really wouldn’t be in this position without the United academy product.

There is finally the sense in the blue half of Liverpool that something concrete is being built, especially when you factor in the stadium move, but selling Keane and making the same mistake twice could really whip the rug from underneath the club’s feet and display nothing other than regression.
