أكد لطفي عمروش مساعد مدرب مولودية الجزائر، أن الفضل في النتيجة الإيجابية التي عاد بها الفريق من مصر، تعود لحماس اللاعبين.

وتعادل مولودية الجزائر مع الزمالك في أولى مباريات المجموعة الرابعة، أول أمس الجمعة، بدون أهداف، في المباراة التي أقيمت على ملعب استاد القاهرة الدولي.

وأضاف: “بفضل حرارة (حماس) لاعبينا تمكنا من العودة بنتيجة ايجابية، وهم مشكورين على المجهودات التي بذلوها”.

وأتم: “أتمنى أن تساعدنا هذه النتيجة التي عدنا بها من مصر، في التحرر مجددا، في قادم مبارياتنا”.

ويتواجد الزمالك ومولودية الجزائر في المجموعة الرابعة بدوري أبطال إفريقيا، بجوار الترجي التونسي وتونجيت السنغالي.

Palace in negotiations for Camarasa

Report: According to The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are in negotiations with Real Betis in regards to midfielder Victor Camarasa. The Spaniard is believed to be surplus to requirements in Seville.

Verdict: English football fans will know Camarasa from his spell in England last year with Cardiff City. Whilst the 25-year-old was powerless to stop the Bluebirds from getting relegated to the Championship, he was not only the team’s joint-top goalscorer in the league but also provided the most assists. The former Levante man was the team’s main creative force throughout the campaign and, in a better side, he should be able to shine even more. He is said to have a €25m (£22.8m) termination clause in his contract with his current club. The Eagles have a real lack of creativity in the midfield, with just Max Meyer as a playmaker, so recruits are needed. With Camarasa already having spent time in England, he wouldn’t need to adapt as much as others potentially would. The clock is ticking, but this one could get over the line.

En-Nesyri furious after Leganes reject Brighton bid

Report: Leganes striker Youssef En-Nesyri is furious with the club after they rejected two big-money offers from Brighton for him. He went on to social media and shared messages, one of which said, “It’s like they say you’re going with something indirectly. It’s a family thing. It’s sad to feel poorly treated by people who have shown me that they care about money too much”. The posts have since been deleted.

Verdict: If the bid that Brighton made is €20m (£18.3m) as reported, then En-Nesyri has every right to be upset with his employers. After all, the 22-year-old’s market value currently stands at just £10.8m. The Morocco international had a decent season last time out, scoring 11 goals in 34 games, but he by no means set the world alight. Having said that, he may be an upgrade on what Graham Potter currently has at his disposal. Glenn Murray’s career, one would expect, is coming to an end at 35, whilst neither Jurgen Locadia nor Florin Andone scored at a prolific rate last term. Leganes may not want to sell him, but when a player makes it so publicly clear that he wants a move, then it is generally a good idea to move him on before things get ugly.

Diaz to stay at Real this season

Report: It is being reported by Libertad Digital that Real Madrid have told Brahim Diaz that he will be staying at the Bernabeu this coming season. It is believed that whilst Zinedine Zidane is pleased with the former Manchester City man, Marco Asensio’s injury has made the decision a necessity.

Verdict: “It is one of those players that takes the ball and goes straight to the goal and will always look for space. You know something will happen when he has the ball”. This is what Zidane said about Diaz last season, which shows that he is an admirer of the forward. However, despite Asensio’s injury, it must be asked how much playing time he will receive this season. Eden Hazard, who plays in the same position as Diaz, has already been brought in this summer, and Rodrygo has also joined the squad following his transfer last year. That adds to Vinicius Junior, who is already at the club having been signed 12 months ago. As such, a loan move may be better for his development at this point, but instead, the teenager must hope his manager gives him enough chances to shine.

Leeds’ deadline day didn’t offer too much chaos but despite adding Illan Meslier and Eddie Nketiah on loan, they received a huge boost with the confirmation that Kalvin Phillips would be staying and discussing new terms.

The news was confirmed by Yorkshire Evening Post and Phil Hay of The Athletic as the player’s agent Kevin Sharp revealed he would be sitting down immediately to talk about an updated contract.

Phillips was one of the stars in the Leeds side last term, playing 44 times across both midfield and defence, winning 2.6 tackles per game and the same number of aerial duels. He was a stalwart for Marcelo Bielsa and he should now be buoyed by the fact he doesn’t have anything lingering over his future.

The reaction to him staying was understandably that of delight on Twitter. Two fans focused on Victor Orta, throwing praise towards the Director of Football. One said he had pulled a blinder this window by keeping the 24-year-old in Yorkshire.

A fellow supporter said that it was the best signing of the window whilst another described it as the best news of the summer.

Phillips attracted £14m interest from Aston Villa during the course of the transfer market whilst he also caught the eye of Wolves and Bournemouth.

وواصل: “كنت هدافًا لـ ليفربول في إحدى السنوات عندما لعبت في خط الهجوم مع إيان راش، لقد سجلت أهدافًا أكثر منه، لكنه كان دائمًا الهداف الأول، كان راش هو الهداف، كنت صانع الأهداف، صادف أنني سجلت أهدافًا أكثر منه ذات عام، لكن الأمر لم يكن منافسة بناءً على رغبتي في تسجيل أهداف أكثر منه”.

وتابع: “لذا، فإن فكرتي بشأن وجود منافسة بين اللاعبين داخل الفريق ليست موجودة، لأنه في حال وجودها، فإن اللاعبين سيتخذون قرارات سيئة للفريق عندما يكونون قلقين بشأن تسجيل الأهداف أكثر من زملائهم”.

واستكمل: “يمكننا أن نقول أن هناك منافسة بين إيان راش في ليفربول وجاري لينيكر في توتنهام، منافسة بين لاعبين من فرق مختلفة، لكن منافسة بين لاعبين في نفس الفريق لا وجود لها”.

One of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s biggest selection dilemmas at the beginning of the 2019/20 season has been who partners the imperious Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence.

Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are the two frontrunners with Dejan Lovren seemingly fourth choice having failed to make the matchday squad in the Premier League so far, and it was the former who got the nod in their opening two fixtures of the campaign against Manchester City in the Community Shield and Norwich City in the top flight.

The Merseyside outfit conceded in both games, and it was a little bit surprising the Cameroon international didn’t make the XI against the Canaries given he found the net at Wembley against the Citizens just a few days previously.

However, the 28-year-old did line up alongside the Dutchman in the Super Cup against Chelsea in Istanbul in midweek, with Gomez staying in the team but switching to right-back instead.

Following 120 minutes of football plus penalties, the former Schalke man kept his place for the trip to face Southampton on Saturday, and he would have been looking to prove to his manager that he should be ahead of his England international teammate in the pecking order.

It would be hard to argue that he convincingly did that though, even if Liverpool returned to Merseyside with three points and just the one goal conceded – courtesy of a huge blunder by Adrian.

The scoreline didn’t tell the whole story of what was a difficult day for van Dijk and Matip at times though, with their collective defending letting them down on more than one occasion – whether it was their heavy legs from their Super Cup exertions or not, it was still concerning.

For example in the first half Saints striker Che Adams ghosted in between the duo and should have done better with a header from Oriol Romeu’s cross, while Maya Yoshida had a free header to the centre of the goal from about six yards out that Adrian did well to palm away.

Matip looked far from comfortable on the ball when the likes of Adams and Nathan Redmond pressing him, and his passing accuracy of 78.7% from the match, according to WhoScored, was far from ideal.

The African defender still looks better in the air than he does in possession, even if The Liverpool Echo reported post-match that his passing was improved from in Turkey after issuing their match ratings.

He also made 10 clearances, although some examples of those were him putting the ball into touch even when he wasn’t under serious pressure.

Chances still came in the second half and while neither centre-half could do anything about Danny Ings’ gift, they should have done better when the former Red was left on his own little more than six yards out late on, only to not make enough contact with the ball.

It was another three points on the board but it didn’t come without some negatives, and on this showing anyway Klopp is better off opting for van Dijk and Gomez as his first-choice centre-back pairing.

Unfortunately, Dalot couldn’t have picked a worse kit to pose in.

The famous grey away shirt from the 1995/96 season is infamous in United lore for being one of the worst kits the club have ever produced.

United actually never won a game in that strip, and its most notable appearance came in a 3-1 loss to Southampton.

Alex Ferguson found his side 3-0 down at half-time against the Saints, and in one of the Premier League’s classic moments, he forced his team to change into another strip at half-time.

The kit supposedly made it difficult for players to see each other, and United were subsequently fined £10,000 for switching at half-time.

Although Dalot will have wanted to invoke memories of a happier time at Old Trafford with his Instagram post, he has chosen the worst possible kit to make that statement, and any old-school United fan who comes across the snap will be tormented by the memories of their club’s worst ever kit.

As quoted by The Shields Gazette, Newcastle ace Isaac Hayden has opened up on why he thinks he hasn’t received a call-up to the England squad yet.

What did he say?

The 24-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the current campaign in the centre of midfield for Steve Bruce’s side, but missed out on a place in the Three Lions squad for the upcoming EURO 2020 qualifiers.

Now, Hayden has suggested England boss Gareth Southgate’s intent on getting more attacking players into the side has hurt his chances of a call-up.

He said: “I think the issue is that with the way that England play, they tend to go with a lot more attacking, ‘flairy’ type of players in that area. They rarely restrain themselves – from what I see looking in from the outside, Gareth only really has one or two players who can play in that more (defensive) position.

“Unfortunately, for me, I’ve got Jordan Henderson, Liverpool captain and Champions League winner, who in the last couple of years has really stepped up his game to the levels where he is now. Then you’ve obviously also got Declan Rice, who’s 20, and who has quit the Ireland, so it’s difficult to leave him out.

“It’s difficult for me to get in there, but I think the most important thing for me is to just keep playing the games I’m doing. If I’m playing the games and performing to the required level, then if I get in, I get in. If not, I’ll carry on playing and working.”

Disappointment

Despite claims he wanted to move back to London with his family, Hayden stayed put at Newcastle over the summer, and has shown incredible professionalism in knuckling down and getting the job done.

The former Arsenal academy product can consider himself desperately unlucky to miss out on a place in the England squad. The holding midfield role is a specialist position, and the 24-year-old has taken to the task well under both Rafa Benitez and Steve Bruce.

Hayden averaged an impressive 2.9 tackles and 1.6 interceptions in the Premier League last season, whilst Henderson managed just 1.4 tackles and 0.9 interceptions.

If the comparison with the Liverpool star is unfair because the Reds tend to dominate games, then the fact Hayden’s numbers slightly better what Rice produced at West Ham too (2.9 tackles and 1.5 interceptions) should underline how unlucky the Newcastle man is.

Hayden’s biggest problem perhaps? He simply goes about his job with the minimum of fuss. But if he continues to keep up his form over the course of the campaign, Southgate would be foolish to ignore him.
