-Não é a ideia (voltar ao mercado). A gente montou um elenco para não passar pelos problemas de 2015. O time era muito bom, o elenco não era pequeno, mas tivemos umas certas dificuldades de encontrar substitutos para jogadores específicos que se lesionaram. Montamos um elenco com peças de reposição, para quando acontecessem problemas durante a temporada. A gente imaginava que algumas contusões aconteceriam, aconteceu agora na pré-temporada e nós temos peças de reposição e o Cleiton pode ter tempo para se recuperar – disse o dirigente, em entrevista ao Fox Sports.

Fã e próximo do jogador, Paulo Nobre queria repatriar Cleiton Xavier desde que chegou à presidência do clube, em 2013. A meta foi atingida em 2015, mas o jogador também teve muitos problemas físicos e ficou devendo: foram apenas 17 partidas na temporada passada, quatro como titular.

-O Cleiton é um jogador que se deu muito bem no Palmeiras no fim da década passada. Foi negociado, coisa natural, e o palmeirense, inclusive eu, sempre sonhou com a volta dele. Ele se dedicou muito durante as férias e a gente imaginava que agora ele tivesse a deslanchada que todos esperam. Eu tenho muita esperança no Cleiton ainda, mas ele se machucou agora – lamentou.

Para reforçar sua confiança em Cleiton Xavier, Paulo Nobre citou Barrios. O atacante paraguaio chegou sem empolgar após a Copa América e recebeu até críticas, mas foi um dos destaques na final da Copa do Brasil, contra o Santos.

– É natural o torcedor se decepcionar. Mas o dirigente tem que entender que o Cleiton é um ativo da casa e se está no Palmeiras é porque a gente acredita que ele possa render bons frutos. David Sullivan can finally deliver on his London Stadium promise by luring Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen to West Ham United in January.

What’s the word?

According to Eurosport, the Hammers are lining up a shock mid-season move to bring Eriksen back to the Premier League just a year after he quit Tottenham Hotspur for £16.9million.

Inter Milan are expected to allow Eriksen to secure a move away from the San Siro this winter having failed to establish himself at the club and, should he fancy a reunion with the English top-flight, the Irons will put themselves forward with an official bid.

Eriksen has started just four fixtures across all competitions this season with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte often happy to overlook the 28-year-old, who is without a goal or assist thus far this term.

The Denmark international struggled to find his feet in Italy during his maiden campaign, either, with Eriksen striking home only four times and contributing three assists after leaving north London with a hand in 158 career Tottenham goals (69 scored, 89 assisted).

Mauricio Pochettino once lauded Eriksen as a “special” talent during his time in charge at White Hart Lane, where the 103-cap wonder was nicknamed the “screamer” for being capable of scoring “unbelievable goals”.

Finally delivering on a 10-year promise

Sullivan can finally deliver on the promise he made to West Ham supporters 10-years ago if the Irons co-owner and Chairman is able to lure Eriksen to the club this winter, as he has forever described the move to the London Stadium as a decision which could lead to signings like this.

Sullivan told supporters back in January 2010 that he believed moving away from Upton Park and to the site of the London 2012 Olympics would allow West Ham to turbo-charge revenues and reach another level like Manchester City after their change of ground following the Commonwealth Games.

But Irons fans are yet to see the proof as rather than compete with Man City for European places, the east London side have often been fighting off the threat of relegation with a seventh-place finish in 2015/16 their highest result since 2001/02.

Big-name players like Dimitri Payet did not stick around for long either, as the star of the 2015/16 campaign departed just a year later after seeing the Hammers crash out of the Europa League in the qualifying stages after defeat to Romanian side Astra Giurgiu.

With West Ham currently on course to challenge for their best finish to a Premier League season since moving to the London Stadium, Eriksen – and his Champions League experience – could be the one to get them over the line and back into Europe.

David Moyes must wield the axe on Issa Diop and bench the French defender for Craig Dawson when West Ham United visit Chelsea on Monday night.

The Hammers won on their last trip to Stamford Bridge but have found results hard to secure in south west London in recent years, with last season’s victory snapping a run of 14 winless visits.

Chelsea will be expected to put up a firm defence of their record when the two sides meet to round off the pre-Christmas fixtures, as Frank Lampard’s men strive to avoid a third-straight Premier League defeat that has seen the Blues fall outside of the guaranteed European positions and sit just a point above the Hammers.

Moyes fielding Diop at Stamford Bridge would threaten West Ham’s chances of taking a result on Monday night, after the 23-year-old struggled on his return to the starting line-up in place of the injured Fabian Balbuena at home to Crystal Palace.

It was the first time since September that Diop opened a top-flight fixture having lost his place in the side after testing positive for coronavirus, and showed clear signs of rustiness as Christian Benteke had his way before being shown a second yellow card.

Chelsea forwards Olivier Giroud, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic would be licking their lips at the prospect of attacking Diop, should he produce a similar affair, with their pace and knack for attacking the box enough to leave the Frenchman in a spin.

Moyes can ill-afford to see a key piece of his plans be targeted in such a way, and must unleash Watford loanee Dawson for his West Ham debut to bring a sense of leadership into the line should Balbuena not be passed fit with further checks needed.

Dawson has been named among the substitutes for the Irons’ last two top-fight fixtures after being overlooked in the opening months of his time in claret and blue, but is yet to step foot onto the field since penning a one-year loan deal that features a £2million option to buy.

Moyes favoured Dawson on the bench over Diop against Leeds United last week before Balbuena’s injury, as he sought to offer the Watford man his first experience of being in a West Ham matchday squad.

“Dawson’s more vocal than Diop,” ExWHUemployee explained on the West Ham Way Podcast. “[Moyes] thought, if he needed a centre-back to come on, he could have put [Ben] Johnson on and put [Aaron] Cresswell at centre-back.

“He obviously had [Declan] Rice that could play there as well. So he only wanted either Dawson or Diop and he went to give Dawson a bit of experience of the first-team.”

Moyes must now go one step further and bench Diop to field Dawson, who helped Watford keep four clean sheets in his 29 Premier League appearances last season thanks to 3.8 clearances, 1.2 interceptions, 1.0 successful tackle and 5.0 duels won, while being dribbled past just 0.5 times a game, per SofaScore.

Steven Gerrard has been dealt a huge blow ahead of the Old Firm clash with Celtic after Glasgow Rangers ace Scott Arfield was ruled out of action due to injury.

The attack-minded midfielder had barely missed a beat since the start of the season before he suffered an ankle injury during the 1-0 victory over Hibernian on Boxing Day.

Speaking to reporters prior to the highly-anticipated clash at the top of the Scottish Premiership, the Light Blues boss provided an injury update to Arfield after he hobbled off the pitch in the win at home to Hibs.

Gerrard said, as quoted by The Scotsman: “The scan came back and we are just waiting on a few more opinions on it.

“We’ve had one opinion on it and he will obviously be missing in the short term. He will definitely be missing for a few weeks, that’s for sure.

“But in terms of the exact date or time, it’s very difficult to say right now. He will certainly miss the next two or three fixtures.”

Arfield has been an integral part of Gerrard’s side since he first arrived at Ibrox, starting five out of his six appearances and playing the full 90′ minutes on three occasions in the Europa League this season, via Transfermarkt.

The Rangers manager revealed the club are still waiting the results of a second scan to show the full extent of the injury, but expects him to be out of action for several weeks.

Rangers will also be without Ryan Jack for the second Old Firm derby of the season, as Gerrard previously confirmed he will be forced to sit and watch from the sidelines as he works his way back to fitness.

“It has taken a little bit longer than we thought, so that is just not clear at the moment. I don’t really want to rush that, so he won’t be available for the next game,” the Ibrox boss previously stated.

There’s no doubt that losing Arfield for the foreseeable future will be a devastating blow for Gerrard as the Gers seek to juggle both domestic and European competitions whilst trying to prevent Celtic from winning an unprecedented ten titles in a row, with the 32-year-old central midfielder proving to be a key cog in the engine room.

No midfielder has scored more goals than the former Canada international with Arfield accounting for seven goals across all competitions so far this season, via Transfermarkt. Only three other players in the entirety of the Premiership have provided more assists than Arfield (5) has achieved in 20 appearances in the top flight, though it’s worth pointing out at least half of those appearances have come off the bench.

He will be sorely missed by Gerrard at Ibrox as the Gers look to kick-off the New Year in style, having scored the second goal against Celtic to secure a victory over the eventual champions last season.

أرسل النادي الأهلي صباح اليوم الإثنين، خطابًا لهيئة قضايا الدولة، يطلب فيه محضر اجتماع الجمعية العمومية لانتخاب مجلس الإدارة الجديد، وذلك في خطوة تصعيدية بعد البيانات التي أصدرها المجلس برئاسة محمود الخطيب في اليومين الماضيين.

وكان الأهلي قد أصدر بيانًا رسميًا أبدى فيه استغرابه من عدم اعتماد فوز العامري فاروق بمنصبه في مجلس الإدارة، وكشف بالمستندات في بيان آخر عن أحقيته في اعتماده كنائب مجلس إدارة منتخب. (طالع التفاصيل من هنـــا)

وجرى يوم الجمعة الماضي اجتماع عمومية الأهلي، ولم يتسلمه النادي حتى الآن، والذي يتضمن تشكيل مجلس الإدارة عن الدورة الانتخابية 2021-2025 في فئات مناصبه المختلفة (الرئيس – نائب الرئيس – أمين الصندوق – أعضاء فوق السن – أعضاء تحت السن).

وذلك وفقًا للإعلان الذي تفضل به المستشار رئيس اللجنة القضائية بعد الانتهاء من عملية الفرز.

وجاء في الإعلان أنه تم عرض اعتماد فوز العامري فاروق بمنصب نائب الرئيس بالتزكية وحصوله على موافقة أكثر من 25% من عدد الحضور، وهو ما يؤكد أن طلب عرض أمر المرشح على الجمعية العمومية مرة ثانية يدعو للدهشة والاستغراب.

خاصة أنه تم عرضه بالفعل من خلال استمارة التصويت المعتمدة والمختومة من الجهة الإدارية، التي تم إدراج اسم العامري فاروق فيها لاعتماد فوزه بالتزكية، وحصل على نسبة تأييد من أعضاء النادي تجاوزت 94% من الحضور، وذلك لإعلاء سلطة الجمعية العمومية، وحفاظًا على استقرار مؤسسة النادي الأهلي.
