Desde 2000, quando a Fifa passou a organizar o torneio, apenas em duas edições jogadores brazucas não anotaram gols: em 2012, o Corinthians foi campeão com dois tentos do peruano Paolo Guerrero e, em 2014, o campeão foi o Real Madrid, novamente sem brasileiro marcando.

Nesta temporada, Ricardo Nascimento ficou marcado negativamente ao empurrar contra seu próprio gol, na derrota do Mamelodi Sundowns, da África do Sul, por 4 a 1 para o Jeonbuk Motors, da Coréia do Sul. Em 2009, o atacante Denilson fez quatro gols na campanha do Pohang, da Coreia do Sul, e estabeleceu o recorde de gols do país no torneio. Dividem o segundo lugar Romário, Ronaldinho Gaúcho e Washington. Romário fez três gols pelo Vasco, na primeira edição, em 2000. Já o meia marcou por Barcelona (2006) e Atlético-MG (2013), mas terminou a competição sem conquistar o título. Washington, o Coração Valente, também fez três pelo Urawa Reds, do Japão, em 2007.

Goleadores em 2000, Edmundo e Edilson estiveram nos elencos de Vasco e Corinthians, respectivamente. O Animal fez seus gols contra South Melbourne e Manchester United, enquanto o Capetinha marcou contra o Real Madrid.
Amoroso marcou pelo São Paulo contra o Al Ittihad, da Arábia Saudita.

Alecsandro, Adriano, Amoroso, Edmundo, Edílson e Fernando Baiano outros brasileiros que deixaram suas marcas na competição. Cada um deles soma dois gols em jogos válidos pelo Mundial de Clubes.

Desde a metade da temporada de 2016, o Flamengo vem se preocupando com a zaga do time. Visando ter um aproveitamento maior no setor, a diretoria contratou Donatti, com a imagem de que o jogador seria um grande reforço até o final do ano. Porém, o argentino teve poucas oportunidades de atuar pelo clube, tendo jogado apenas 215 minutos com a camisa rubro-negra, e seus dias no Flamengo podem estar chegando ao fim.

Apesar do jogador não estar no padrão de Muricy Ramalho, por ser rebatedor enquanto a preferência do técnico é por zagueiros que tenham boa saída de bola, aos 30 anos, o argentino assinou com o clube por três temporadas e jogou em três partidas este ano. De acordo com o canal Tyc Sports, Eduardo Coudet, que treinou Donatti durante sua passagem pelo Rosário e será nomeado técnico do Racing (ARG), afirmou que há interesse em ter o zagueiro na equipe do Racing para 2017.

Donatti marcou quatro gols na Copa Libertadores 2016 (contra River Plate, Palmeiras, Nacional do Uruguai e Grêmio), torneio que o Flamengo jogará no próximo ano e sua experiência pode ser vantajosa ao clube.

Athirson, lateral do Flamengo entre 1996 e início dos anos 2000, acredita que a importância do jogador deve ser analisada pela comissão técnica antes que uma decisão seja tomada.

– O clube precisa analisar o custo que terá para manter um atleta que não é titular, mas que pode ser bom ter por sua experiência. Se tiver um jogador que se encaixe no perfil do treinador e tenha as característas de Donatti, que foram úteis ao clube, mas não seja tão caro ao clube, não valeria a pena mantê-lo. O Flamengo precisa avaliar a importância que ele tem na equipe.

O jornalista João Carlos Assumpção acredita que Donatti deve permanecer no Flamengo, considerando que sua experiência pode ser de grande valia ao clube na próxima temporada.

– Acho o Donatti um ótimo jogador. Já o vi várias vezes em ação. Tem ótimo potencial, espiríto de liderança, sabe comandar e sair jogando. Chuta muito bem e com força, é alto, muito bom nas bolas altas, seja na defesa, seja no ataque. Ainda é versátil! Joga bem tanto pela esquerda como pela direita. Se eu fosse dirigente do Flamengo, tentaria segurá-lo. A não ser que de fato não dê. Mas considero que seria um jogador importante para 2017, me refiro também à Libertadores. É fundamental ter jogadores bons e experientes como ele, estrangeiros, que dominem espanhol e conheçam bem o nosso continente, caso de Donatti.

وبحسب التقرير، يريد باريس سان جيرمان التعاقد مع المدير الرياضي لنادي ليفربول، مايكل إدواردز، بعدما قرر عدم تجديد عقده مع الريدز والذي ينتهي بنهاية الموسم الحالي.

ويرغب باريس سان جيرمان في التعاقد مع إدواردز، الذي نجح في إعادة ليفربول لقمة الكرة الأوروبية من خلال صفقات مميزة مثل محمد صلاح، ساديو ماني، فيرجيل فان دايك، أليسون بيكر، والعديد من النجوم.

Aston Villa could be heading for another Charles N’Zogbia disaster amid reports linking them with a move for Bordeaux’s Mehdi Zerkane.

What’s the story?

In recent days, French publication L’Equipe (via Get French Football News) has claimed that Dean Smith’s side have made contact with Zerkane over a potential move in the summer transfer window.

It was added that: “Zerkane, who scored a goal last night vs Lens in a crucial win in FCGB’s relegation battle, was watched again by Aston Villa scouts who were in the stands – they have been tracking Zerkane for at least 3 months and have made contact with the player’s entourage.”

Another N’Zogbia disaster

Villa fans will, of course, know all about N’Zogbia and the kind of hype that came with him after some starring performances with Wigan, but the exciting winger never ended up delivering at Villa Park.

And, in a piece done by The Birmingham Mail, they wrote: “Quick, agile, athletic and an eye for a goal! What arrived was a massive anti-climax having cost little over £10m. He was not helped by the dour football of Alex McLeish. He could hardly utilise his expertise in a team playing route one football.

“He did suffer an Achilles injury during Paul Lambert’s tenure that kept him out for a season. But, with a £50-60k wage heading into his bank account each week, the Frenchman has simply not justified it. He had offered nothing in all honesty to this team, even during Tim Sherwood’s short-lived spell last season where he was in the starting-XI more often that not but was just a passenger if anything else.”

Zerkane is in that similar mould, being someone who can play on either flank with a bit of pace, but there are already some signs that he would be a massive flop at Villa.

This season has seen him score just one goal in 28 games in all competitions, the kind of record that even favours poorly compared to N’Zogbia’s tally of five in 93 for Villa.

And like the Frenchman, Zerkane has also suffered from injuries in his fledgling career, and has already missed a decent chunk of the campaign just gone by with a leg issue.

This has all the hallmarks of going down the route that N’Zogbia’s career did at Villa, and if that’s the case, it’s a move that won’t have fans happy at all.

What’s the word?

The Telegraph’s John Percy claims the 45-year-old is on the verge of being announced as Nuno Santo’s successor after he attended a work permit hearing on Wednesday afternoon.

Fosun are determined to have him in place in time for pre-season, though there are still some issues to finalise, such as his contract.

It’s understood that the former Benfica boss was recommended by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has close ties with the Midlands outfit through his agency, Gestifute.

No hurdles are anticipated, so it’s only a matter of time until Lage is in the dugout at Molineux.

Got their man

This will come as exciting and encouraging news to Fosun, who have evidently got their no.1 target.

Percy suggests that, despite Mendes’ influence and other potential candidates on a shortlist, the Portuguese was still their first choice to take over from Nuno.

Perhaps surprisingly, Lage does have some experience of the Premier League as he was assistant to Carlos Carvalhal during the 2017/18 season, which saw them relegated after he took over in December from Sheffield Wednesday.

The Portuguese followed him to the Welsh outfit from Yorkshire before going onto become a manager himself at Benfica B.

Lage was then promoted to the senior side, where he won 67.1% of all his matches in charge, clinching the Primeira Liga title in 2018/19 as well as the Coach of the Year award.

That season, his Benfica side scored a whopping 103 goals, which earned him a reputation of being an exciting and attack-minded manager – something that should appear vastly different to Nuno’s final season in charge as no side above 16th place scored fewer goals than Wolves this term.

There is another benefit to Lage’s appointment as he’ll inherit a large Portuguese contingent of players, of course, with no fewer than seven members of the current squad being born there.

All in all, the news that Lage has received his work permit will be a massive boost for Fosun. They can now go full steam ahead with their plans to turn around their fortunes in the top-flight.

O lateral-direito João Pedro tem negociações adiantadas com a Chapecoense, mas agrada aos rubro-negros.

Allione tem contrato com o Verdão até julho de 2019 e esteve perto de se transferir para o Racing (ARG), o primeiro dos clubes a se interessar por ele, mas as conversas esfriaram. Depois de sondagens de Vitória e Vasco, o argentino se animou com a possibilidade de ir para o River Plate (ARG), só que não houve negócio. A saída é também um desejo do jogador, que não quer ficar mais um ano como opção frequente no banco de reservas.

Além de ter terminado 2016 na reserva, Allione sabe que terá concorrência ainda maior, diante das recentes contratações de Keno, Michel Bastos e Hyoran, por exemplo. Contratado em 2014 a pedido de Ricardo Gareca, o camisa 15 tem 71 jogos e sete gols marcados pelo Verdão.

Wolves legend Steve Bull has told Football FanCast that Adama Traore is too good for Leeds and should be targeting at top four club should he leave this summer.

The flying winger still has more than two years remaining on his deal, but hasn’t yet committed his future to the club, with talks over a new long-term contract still ongoing.

Traore, who was once called “unplayable” by Jurgen Klopp following Liverpool’s 2-1 victory at Molineux last January, has been on Leeds’ radar for some time, and their pursuit of the Spaniard could be helped by reports suggesting that Wolves are looking to cash-in on the ex-Barcelona man.

The 25-year-old is still one of the most feared attackers in the Premier League, but only managed two goals last season, both coming in the final eight matches, whilst chipping in with three assists in 37 league appearances.

Despite his uninspiring goalscoring numbers, Bull exclusively told Football FanCast that Traore is still be world class on his day and therefore ruled out any potential move to Elland Road this summer:

“He’s too good to play for Leeds, that’s no disrespect to Leeds, but if he’s going to go anywhere, he will go to a top four club or go back home to Spain.

“When he turns it on, he’s a world beater, but I’m hoping he stays and wherever Nuno goes won’t tempt him, but I can’t see him going to Leeds.”
