O Alvirrubro é pioneiro no futebol.
É lá, no Bangu Shopping.

Iyer, who suffered back spasms earlier this week, was the busiest of five players that turned up for training

Shreyas and Tilak in focus at the India nets
It was as if the eyes – and the cameras – of everybody gathered were set on auto-focus mode.India had scheduled an optional training session on a sultry Colombo morning. It was the eve of their last league game against Bangladesh, who were already knocked out of the men’s Asia Cup. The eyes were fixed on the team bus as the coaching staff and players alighted to head into the nets facility at the R Premadasa Stadium.Rahul Dravid, Paras Mhambrey, Shardul Thakur, T Dilip and Tilak Varma all walked before the cameras, and the eyes of the media personnel watching panned. Shreyas Iyer, who would be the subject of interest for the next 90 minutes, made his way into the nets area, greeting a few familiar faces that stood.Related

Iyer was training for the first time after his latest mini-setback. He suffered back spasms while warming up moments before India’s Super Four match against Pakistan on Sunday. Iyer was out of action since the home series against Australia in March due to a back condition that required surgery. He missed IPL 2023 and only returned for the Asia Cup, where he played two games before the latest jolt. He batted in the group game against Pakistan in Pallekele but wasn’t needed against Nepal.Iyer was perhaps the busiest of the five players that turned up for the optional training. He underwent stretching, particularly his back, with the trainer Rajnikanth. After about 15 minutes of jogging, he did short sprints and a stretch-walk, before he proceeded to the third nets, the farthest from the side the media were at.After a short stint of underarm throwdowns, he proceeded to face fast-bowling throwdowns as well as a couple of net bowlers. Iyer showed no visible signs of discomfort – be it while getting forward while lacing the off drive or while transferring his weight back to pull and heave the length and back-of-length deliveries. A batting stint – across two nets – that started around 10:55 am only ended when batting coach Vikram Rathour called time on training at around 11:40 am.Shreyas Iyer had missed the entirety of IPL 2023 before returning for the Asia Cup•Getty Images
A few crisp straight drives had the throwdown guys as well as the net bowlers near the sightscreen ducking for cover. A “Well done, Shreyas!” by Rathour followed by slow claps capped off a productive morning for Iyer. Whether he will play against Bangladesh – or in the final on Sunday – is anybody’s guess. But that Iyer showed his readiness after another scare would please the team management. While Iyer batted at the far nets, Ravindra Jadeja and Thakur batted in pairs, rotating strike after six balls apiece in the first net. Tilak and birthday boy Suryakumar Yadav did the same in the middle nets. Even while Rathour was feeding balls to Iyer, he had an eye on Tilak, often throwing in a loud “shot, Tilak!” or ” (excellent), Tilak” cheer towards him. After about half an hour of nets, Tilak proceeded to bowl his offspin to Jadeja in the first net. Throughout the stint he discussed his grip, the areas to bowl, and flight with Mhambrey, who had a keen eye on proceedings. Mhambrey coached the India Under-19 team in 2020 in South Africa, of which Tilak was a part.”We have been working with Tilak since the Under-19 days,” Mhambrey said after training. “I felt that when we had gone to South Africa for Under-19 (World Cup), he had a bowling skill that we could definitely use, and so we have been working on that consistently.”We are looking to see if he plays and manages to get a chance to bowl even one over, we’ll start from there. If we can look at that and gain confidence from his bowling, the captain will have an option.”In case we need an extra spinner given the circumstances – based on conditions or opposition batters – especially if there are left-handers and you need an offspinner, we need an option to go to. So, we are working with him on his bowling.”While Mhambrey conceded that the team combination for the Bangladesh game is yet to be decided, he said there is a chance that India could try out a few options given they have sealed their spot for the final and there is a home World Cup in the offing.Whatever Tilak, Jadeja, Shardul or Suryakumar did, though, turned to be a mere footnote given Iyer was the clear focal point.
Adam Voges, who has coached Western Australia and Perth Scorchers to back-to-back Australian domestic trebles across the Sheffield Shield, Marsh Cup and BBL, has been appointed to take charge of Australia A against New Zealand A later this month and hopes to use the experience to further build his coaching skills.Australia A will host New Zealand A in two four-day matches and three 50-over matches in Queensland starting later this month, which will run concurrently with Australia’s T20I and ODI tour of South Africa. The A series four-day games will be held at Allan Border Field in Brisbane from August 28-31 and Great Barrier Reef Stadium in Mackay on September 4-7, which will be a day-night fixture with a pink ball. The first 50-over game will also be held in Mackay on September 10 before the second and third games return to Brisbane on September 13 and 15.The squads for the matches are yet to be named but Voges will lead a coaching staff that will include former Australia captain Tim Paine, as well as former Sri Lankan batter Thilan Samaraweera. Former Tasmania allrounder and South Australia assistant coach Luke Butterworth will also work under Voges, as well as Australia women’s bowling coach Scott Prestwidge and Queensland cricket’s coach and talent development specialist Tony Hampson. Australia’s chair of selectors George Bailey will also be with the group in Queensland for the series. The appointment of Voges is a departure from the last two Australia A squads that were led in Sri Lanka last year and New Zealand early this year by Australia assistant coach Andre Borovec to maintain some continuity between the Australia set up and the A team. But Cricket Australia’s (CA) head of national development Sonya Thompson had approached WA Cricket’s general manager Kade Harvey about allowing Voges to take charge of the Australia A squad for the series after the WA and Scorchers coach had done what no other Australia domestic coach has achieved in winning the Shield, Marsh Cup and BBL treble twice in back-to-back seasons.Current Australia coach Andrew McDonald is the only one who has led sides to an Australian domestic treble since the BBL’s inception, doing so with Victoria and Melbourne Renegades in 2018-19 before becoming an assistant coach and then head coach with Australia.Shaun Marsh and Adam Voges with the Sheffield Shield•Getty Images
“I see it as an opportunity,” Voges told ESPNcricinfo. “I love my job here in Perth. I’m really grateful for the opportunity I get here [in WA]. I’d love to continue to develop and grow and learn as much as I can as a coach and this opportunity gives me another chance to do that. So that’s probably how I see it.”I’ll enjoy the three-and-a-half weeks that I get with [the Australia A] program and then run or charge full steam into our domestic season. So they’re the priorities at the moment. I’m always looking to just keep learning and growing in the role.”Voges has spoken to McDonald about keeping some continuity between the national team and the A side in terms of the environment and messaging to players, but McDonald has given him the freedom to create the best environment he sees fit for the series.”He’s pretty happy for me to take the lead on that,” Voges said. “Albeit I’m certainly mindful of trying to keep those messages as similar as possible. So that gives us a bit of a guide as to what it can potentially look like, and I’ll probably touch base again between now and then but appreciate he’s been pretty busy over the last couple of months.”Voges is fully aware of the challenges of bringing an A team together at short notice when players are coming and going, while also eyeing personal advancement to the national sides. Despite the challenge being different from taking charge of a year-round state program with a stable group of players, Voges has experienced a lot of chopping and changing within his WA and Scorchers teams over the past two seasons as a number of his players have filtered in and out of national squads during that time.Voges has experience of Australia A programs as a player, combined with his wonderful international career, as well as being part of the 2019 Australia A tour of England as an assistant when he was first finding his feet as a state coach.”Having been part of those setups as a player as well as a staff member, I think that’s the challenge is to try and unite a group in such a small timeframe,” Voges said.”CA are putting a big emphasis on these opportunities and trying to provide them [for the players] so hopefully, understanding the opportunity for what it is and making the three-and-a-half weeks as enjoyable as possible. And if we can do that and play some good cricket along the way then hopefully not only does it kick start those players start of the domestic season, but we enjoy our time as well.”Voges was also excited to reconnect with Paine having spent two years together at CA’s Centre of Excellence as players and appeared in ODI and T20I cricket together, although their Test careers did not overlap.”I have had a fair bit to do with Tim over the journey and I’m really excited for him to start to dip his toe into coaching post-career and looking forward to him being around the group,” he said.”To have a former Australian captain in amongst it and to be able to lean on him and for him to provide that experience to a couple of the younger players I think will be great.”

Pakistan struck back in the final thirty minutes to eventually share the day’s honours
Sreshth Shah28-Dec-2022New Zealand’s batters, led by Kane Williamson, made Pakistan toil for most of day three in Karachi. However, the hosts struck back in the final 30 minutes to eventually share the day’s honours.Starting the day on 165 for 0, New Zealand finished on 440 for 6, two runs ahead of Pakistan’s first-innings score. With Pakistan having the momentum at stumps, the game stands in a tantalising position with two days to go and a tricky pitch to deal with.Williamson finished the day unbeaten on 105. He was supported by Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell and though neither man got even as far as a half-century, their aggression allowed Williamson to quietly build on his score. In the morning, Tom Latham added to his overnight score of 78 to post his 13th Test century.Mitchell shellacked 42 runs in 47 balls after walking in at No. 5 in the middle session. He used the reverse-sweep to get his boundary-scoring underway before graduating to playing more conventional shots in the V. Nauman Ali was launched for six and four down the ground while Mohammad Wasim bore the brunt of even more aggression, hit for four boundaries in four deliveries.Blundell, on the other hand, was a much less assured presence at the crease. He rode his luck coming down the track to the Pakistan spinners, Nauman and Abrar Ahmed, who bowled in tandem for long spells through the day. The New Zealand No. 6 was the aggressor after tea, targeting he leg side for most of his boundaries. His battle with Nauman was fascinating, with the left-arm spinner getting the ball to turn across him, leading to innumerable leading edges and sliced shots that went to the off-side instead, including one when he was on 41 that saw two fielders try to take a catch with neither committing to it. Eventually, the missed Blundell chance did not cost Pakistan much with the wicketkeeper-batter falling lbw for 47 to Wasim’s reverse-swing late in the day.Nauman created more chances earlier in the day. Had they been converted, his figures would have looked a lot better than 2 for 137 and Pakistan might well be in control of the whole Test match. He had bowled beautifully to force errors from Williamson when the batter was on 15 and 21, however both times Sarfaraz Ahmed could not pull off the stumping. In fairness to the wicketkeeper, they were moderately tough chances.Nauman Ali bowled better than his figures – 2 for 137 – suggest•AFPWilliamson, batting for the first time since giving up the Test captaincy, made his entry in the day’s sixth over following Devon Conway’s dismissal for 92. After a 183-run opening partnership with Latham, Conway was out lbw to Nauman, trapped inside his crease on the back foot. At first, Conway was deemed not out by umpire Aleem Dar but the decision was overturned on review. While Williamson was still finding his feet, Latham charged to his 13th Test hundred in the morning. His ton broke the New Zealand record for most centuries by a Test opener, going past John Wright’s 12.However, Latham fell before lunch trying to play a reverse sweep off Abrar that popped up to first slip. Abrar’s second wicket of the day – that of Mitchell – also came via a reverse sweep that went wrong.Williamson had a watchful start to his innings, trying to find his feet following a lean recent run with the bat. He relied on the sweep to get his early runs, but as the ball got old, he pounced on Abrar’s inconsistency to hit him for three fours through midwicket in the space of seven balls. That pushed him into the 40s, and soon after reached his fifty by punching to extra cover. After a brief 41-run stand with No. 4 Henry Nicholls ended with the left-hand batter chopping Nauman onto his stumps, Williamson took a back seat with Mitchell leading the run-scoring charge. That allowed him to quietly move into the 70s, which he further added to, once Blundell brought out his strokes. The only time Williamson really went for the big shots was when the spinners pitched it up outside off. Otherwise, he relied on his nudges and nurdles to get the bulk of his runs.It was late in the day when Williamson reached his century – his 25th in Tests, fifth against Pakistan and first since his 238 in January 2021 against the same opponents. He drove Wasim to mid-off in the 123rd over and reached his landmark. However that wasn’t the end of the day’s action. Michael Bracewell fell late in the day leaving Ish Sodhi, the No. 8, to face 20 balls in a tricky spell of play to stay unbeaten on 1 alongside Williamson. While the end of the day provided a zenith for Williamson, the start of the day completed a redemption arc for another former Test captain. Sarfaraz was asked to lead Pakistan in the morning session with Babar Azam one of three players down with viral flu like symptoms. And even though Babar returned after lunch, Sarfaraz’s brief spell in charge completed a full circle for the man who was dropped from captaincy, and the team, since his last Test appearance in January 2019.

WHAT NEXT FOR LIVERPOOL?
The Reds' season has pretty much been wrapped up after their Premier League title win, as they are not alive in any other competitions. Slot will now have enough time to kick off their preparations for the next season.
Everton have been enjoying life under David Moyes, but all of a Toffees persuasion know that the week ahead is one of significance.
While three successive Premier League victories have created a sizeable buffer between Goodison Park and the relegation zone, fans will no doubt clamour for a victory over Bournemouth in the FA Cup this afternoon, especially now that Moyes has been reinstated to the helm.
Everton managerDavidMoyesbefore the match
Moyes led Everton through the noughties and is a revered figure for his work at the club, but Everton’s trophyless run stretches way back to 1995 when they won the FA Cup and subsequent Community Shield.
The Cherries have been in fine fettle under Andoni Iraola this term and have done the double over Everton in the Premier League. Now, it’s time for revenge, with Moyes playing host to one of England’s in-form outfits.
Everton team news
Everton will need to be on their a-game to defeat a slick and stylish Bournemouth team. They were beaten by Liverpool at the Vitality last weekend but had previously gone 11 league matches undefeated.
The dearth of fit forwards means that Beto will reprise his role at number nine, buoyed by netting a brace in the 4-0 victory over Leicester City last time out.
However, next Wednesday’s Merseyside derby means that Moyes could make a few rotations where possible, albeit picking a team that is capable of sending the South Coast side packing.
James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam could play a part after recovering from respective issues last week. Dwight McNeil is still injured, so January recruit Charly Alcaraz could make his debut for the club in a forward-thrust midfield role.
Carlos Alcaraz
Everton have lost seven of their past nine meetings with Bournemouth across all competitions, and so will need to be on the ball, so to speak.
Defensive resilience will be crucial against such a coherent offensive force, but Moyes will want to ensure his team packs a punch too, and Iliman Ndiaye could hold the key.
How Iliman Ndiaye can hurt Bournemouth
Everton signed Ndiaye from French club Marseille for a £15m fee last summer, a deal that looks shrewder and shrewder by the week.
Everton star Iliman Ndiaye
Beto scored twice last time out but hasn’t been clinical or assertive enough throughout the lion’s share of his Everton career, joining from Udinese for an eye-catching £26m fee in August 2023.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja both injured, Ndiaye will need to step up to the plate and provide his outfit with a goal threat from wide, especially with Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom exacerbating the situation from the right, both wingers without a single goal contribution this year.
Jesper Lindstrom for Everton
Though Sean Dyche was dismissed from his duties in January after failing to provide Everton with any meaningful attacking flair, Ndiaye still managed to showcase his exciting quality, with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp hailing the Senegal international’s “dynamite” talent.
It’s all the more impressive that he’s gone from strength to strength this Moyes’ appointment last month, scoring in all three of the Scottish manager’s recent victories in the Premier League.
This incisiveness will be crucial. Understat record that Bournemouth have outperformed their expected goals against (xGA) by 6.81 this season, effectively suggesting that the Cherries are solid and effective in the defensive third, even though they’ve cultivated something of a – deserved – reputation for being an attacking spectacle under their Spanish boss.
BBC Sport’s Oluwashina Okeleji has described “Everton’s standout performer this season” and it’s clear to see why. He’s scored six goals from 23 Premier League matches this season, missing only two big chances, but has also averaged 2.5 dribbles and 6.3 successful duels per outing, owing to his energy and combativeness.
He’s going to be a real thorn, with his complete skill set perfect to hit the attack-minded visitors on the counter.
Of course, Everton will have to deal with Bournemouth’s own fleet-footed wideman: Justin Kluivert. The Dutch winger has been immense this season, scoring 11 goals and adding four assists across 23 Premier League matches.

While Bournemouth’s star leads the way when it comes to contributions in front of goal, the electric Ndiaye caught the eye with his underlying metrics, bespeaking his quality and the importance of his involvement for Everton, aiding his team across attacking and defensive phases.
It’s also worth pointing out that Ndiaye has been playing in a far more restrictive attacking unit, evidenced by his low shots total. Even so, the Senegalese has bagged a respectable number of non-penalty goals, whereas six of Kluivert’s top-flight goals this term have come from the spot.
He’s also far more persistent with his successful take-ons, driving at defenders and adding a dimension that few teams are able to replicate with such vim and vigour.
One can only imagine how Ndiaye would be getting on within Iraola’s brood. Perhaps it would be he, and not Kluivert, claiming the Premier League Player of the Month award for January.
After all, Ndiaye has scored in each of Moyes’ recent victories, warming up at the perfect time as the Merseysiders look to score a seat-raising win over Bournemouth and advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup for only the third time in nine seasons.
To be sure, Ndiaye has played a lot of football this season. However, his crackling movements up and down the left flank, partnered with his ever-improving sharpness in front of goal, suggests that he could be the difference-maker in a tight affair.
Kluivert will be highlighted in the Everton defensive meeting, but Ndiaye, Moyes’ own version, might just be the one to emerge on top.
Worth 2x more than Ndiaye: Everton must regret selling "frightening" star
Everton have reached an exciting new era but must rue having lost this high-class talent.
